Class 1 LGV Driver – Permanent, Heathrow

About the role

We are seeking a Class 1 Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) driver to join Royal Mail’s 24‑hour logistics operation based at Heathrow Worldwide VOC in Slough. The role offers permanent employment with flexible shift patterns, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and transport mail between Royal Mail sites, ensuring timely progression through the delivery network.
• Drive fixed routes across the UK independently, adhering to schedules and safety standards.
• Load and unload the vehicle, secure cargo throughout the journey and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Utilise on‑board technology to record journeys, track deliveries and communicate with dispatch.

Required profile

• Valid UK manual C&E licence with a Class 1 LGV entitlement, no more than six penalty points and no TT99 endorsement.
• Self‑motivated and able to work unsupervised for extended periods.
• Organised, punctual and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Flexible to work a rotating roster of day, night, weekend and bank‑holiday shifts.
