Class 2 Driver

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, professional and customer‑focused Class 2 Driver to join our transport team in Chelmsford. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and timely delivery of educational products across the UK, acting as an ambassador for the company and providing outstanding customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle in line with road traffic legislation and company procedures.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects.
• Deliver and collect goods accurately and on time throughout the UK, including regular hand‑ball deliveries to customers.
• Load and unload vehicles safely, handling goods with care.
• Complete delivery documentation and electronic records using handheld devices.
• Comply with Driver CPC requirements, Drivers’ Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and tachograph legislation.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness, presentation and roadworthiness.
• Build positive relationships with customers through a courteous and helpful approach.
• Support the wider transport team and contribute to operational and customer service standards.

Required profile

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Driver CPC qualification card.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Enhanced DBS check (satisfactory) – required for deliveries to schools and educational establishments.
• Previous multi‑drop delivery experience, comfortable with regular hand‑ball deliveries.
