About the role
Southall School is seeking a dedicated class‑based Teacher to lead a group of pupils with complex special educational needs. The role starts on 1 September 2026 (or January, depending on notice periods) and offers a supportive environment for professionals passionate about SEND.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess a broad curriculum tailored to the individual needs of each pupil.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with senior staff, therapists and external agencies to develop personalised learning plans.
- Monitor pupil progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Uphold child protection policies and safeguarding procedures.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher with proven experience working with children who have special needs.
- Strong understanding of foundational English and Maths.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Patience, empathy and a commitment to pupil wellbeing.
- Knowledge of child protection policies.
Required skills
- Classroom management for mixed‑ability groups.
- Curriculum adaptation for SEND pupils.
- Effective communication with parents, staff and external partners.
