Class-Based Teaching Assistant – Primary (Rochdale)

About the role

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Class‑Based Teaching Assistant to support primary and SEN classrooms in Rochdale. The role involves working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, with a strong emphasis on assisting pupils with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Provide targeted one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs).
• Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to implement individual support plans.
• Lead small‑group interventions and assist with 1:1 learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and inclusion within the classroom.

Required profile

• Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred).
• Previous experience in a school‑based TA role.
• Strong experience supporting children with SEN.
• Confidence working across multiple primary age groups.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach to learning support.
