Client Accountant – £50k-£55k + Bonus

About the role

Join a well‑established accountancy practice in Runcorn as a Client Accountant. You will lead the preparation and management of accounts for a portfolio of corporate clients, delivering high‑quality financial reporting and tax compliance while developing strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of corporate clients, understanding their business objectives.
• Oversee corporate tax compliance, including preparing tax computations, calculating provisions and filing Company Tax Returns.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements, consolidated accounts and management accounts.
• Identify tax‑saving opportunities such as R&D tax credits and advise clients on risk mitigation.
• Mentor and train junior accounting staff to maintain high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
• Negotiate and renew client contracts, develop account plans and monitor profitability.
• Travel weekly to the practice’s Prestatyn office for client meetings and team collaboration.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Client Accountant, Client Accounts Manager or Practice Manager within an accountancy practice.
• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of corporate tax, statutory reporting and management accounting.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build long‑term client relationships.
