Client Director – Remote (UK)

About the role

Onside is looking for a senior Client Director to own the success of its finance client portfolio. Working remotely from anywhere in the UK, you will lead Finance Managers and Associates, ensure high‑quality service delivery and act as a trusted senior advisor to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Retain ultimate accountability for client service quality and relationship success across the portfolio.
• Provide leadership, coaching and oversight to Finance Managers and Finance Associates.
• Handle client escalations and ensure seamless delivery of outsourced finance services.
• Oversee management reporting, accounts payable, VAT, payroll and year‑end compliance.
• Drive operational effectiveness, consistency, quality and innovation across client engagements.
• Step in to deliver direct client support when capacity shifts or critical issues arise.

Required profile

• Extensive experience working long‑term from home within a UK accounting practice.
• Proven ability to manage priorities, work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills for finance teams.
• Excellent judgment, relationship‑building and commercial thinking.
