Key responsibilities

• Manage (or assist in managing) a caseload of claimant clinical negligence matters from inception to resolution.
• Handle complex, high‑value cases with a proactive, commercially focused approach.
• Draft essential legal documents such as Letters of Claim, witness statements and court pleadings.
• Obtain and analyse medical records and expert evidence to support claims.
• Liaise regularly with clients, medical experts, counsel and other stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships.
• Progress claims efficiently, including negotiation, settlement discussions and, where necessary, issuing and conducting proceedings.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support junior team members and contribute to overall team performance.
• Ensure accurate time recording and help meet financial and performance targets.
• Deliver compassionate, clear client care throughout the claims process.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX professional with experience in clinical negligence.
• Proven track record of handling or assisting with clinical negligence claims.
• Strong understanding of litigation processes and medical negligence law.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently or support complex matters.
• Excellent communication, drafting and client‑care abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a team.
