Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Commercial Finance Business Partner to join a fast‑paced, customer‑focused organisation in Leeds. The role will partner with senior operational leaders, delivering commercial insight and financial support to drive performance and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary finance business partner to senior operational stakeholders, providing commercial support and constructive challenge.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve revenue, profitability and operational efficiency.
• Own monthly management reporting, ensuring timely and accurate information for the leadership team.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting processes in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor gross margin and profitability, recommending actions to optimise commercial performance.
• Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
• Drive improvements in reporting, financial processes and controls to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Support wider finance projects and contribute to the development of commercial finance capabilities.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Proven experience in a commercially focused finance business partnering role.
• Strong understanding of P&L performance, margin analysis and commercial drivers of profitability.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior operational stakeholders.
• Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning in a dynamic environment.
• Proactive mindset with a track record of continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel – manipulation of large data sets and clear presentation of complex financial information.
