About the role
The Committee Specialist will support the Health and Social Care Committee of the House of Commons, providing impartial, evidence‑based analysis to help MPs scrutinise government policy on health and social care. Working in a hybrid model, you will contribute to high‑profile inquiries that shape national debate.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyse health and social care policy, financial and commissioning arrangements.
- Identify and brief expert witnesses for committee inquiries.
- Prepare briefing notes, advice, and draft reports for committee sessions.
- Assist in organising events, site visits and stakeholder meetings.
- Collaborate with MPs across parties to ensure balanced, evidence‑driven recommendations.
Required profile
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and/or social care policy and key sector organisations.
- Experience in research, analysis or scrutiny of public policy.
- Ability to work quickly in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong written communication skills for briefing materials and reports.

- Salary £43,614‑£50,374 per annum.
- Starting annual leave of 30 days, rising to 35 days after one year.
