Communications Manager

About the role

Footasylum is seeking a commercially driven Communications Manager to lead both external brand communications and internal employee engagement. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will shape the company’s voice across media, PR, and internal channels in a fast‑paced, culturally driven sports‑retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy that aligns short‑term trading priorities with long‑term brand positioning.
• Translate business objectives into consistent messaging frameworks and ensure adherence to the brand tone of voice.
• Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on reputation risk, crisis communications, and messaging.
• Plan and deliver corporate PR campaigns around product drops, brand activations, partnerships and key retail moments.
• Build and maintain relationships with media, press, external agencies and industry partners to maximise brand exposure.
• Drive earned media coverage, monitor share of voice and measure communication effectiveness.
• Design and implement an internal communications plan that connects colleagues to company purpose, performance and priorities.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Social and Influencer teams to ensure cohesive campaign execution across paid, owned and earned channels.

Required profile

• Commercially minded with strong understanding of retail, fashion or sports sectors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to craft compelling narratives.
• Proven experience in both external PR and internal communications.
• Ability to work strategically while delivering hands‑on execution in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders.
