Community Equipment Clinical Advisor – Occupational Therapist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (or qualified Allied Health Professional) to act as a Community Equipment Clinical Advisor. In this role you will provide clinical leadership for a well‑established community equipment service, ensuring patients receive the right assistive technology at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on community equipment and assistive technology.
• Support complex and specialist cases and promote safe, evidence‑based prescribing.
• Collaborate with health and social care professionals to improve equipment pathways.
• Lead audits, governance activities and service‑improvement projects.
• Deliver clinical training and education to staff.
• Evaluate new products and technologies and support procurement and catalogue development.
• Analyse service performance and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Allied Health Professional.
• Significant post‑registration experience in community equipment or rehabilitation.
• Strong knowledge of equipment prescribing and assistive technology.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience delivering training and supporting clinicians.
• Passion for improving patient outcomes.
