Compliance Officer

About the role

Triodos Bank is seeking a Compliance Officer to join its UK team. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will provide second‑line advice, guidance and assurance on regulatory risk and ensure the bank meets all relevant requirements. The role is hybrid, with two days a week in the Bristol office.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate regulatory risk using a risk‑based approach aligned with the bank’s risk appetite.
• Conduct compliance monitoring reviews, report findings and liaise with Group Compliance.
• Provide pragmatic compliance advice, anticipate risks and propose clear solutions.
• Develop and oversee action plans with business units to address out‑of‑appetite risks.
• Analyse legislative and regulatory changes, translate impact into policies and risk frameworks.
• Produce compliance reports, risk exposure analysis and governance documentation.
• Represent TBUK Compliance in meetings, challenge concerns and follow up on issues.
• Maintain and improve frameworks, policies, procedures and support related projects.

Required profile

• Strategic and working knowledge of the UK financial services market and relevant regulators, including FCA Consumer Duty.
• Experience with anti‑money laundering legislation, data protection and banking compliance.
• Proven track record in a compliance role within UK financial services, preferably banking or investment products.
• Ability to organise and manage own workload, meet deadlines and deliver high‑quality outputs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex regulatory information.

Required skills

• FCA regulatory knowledge (Consumer Duty).
• Anti‑money laundering (AML) compliance.
• Data protection regulations.
• Understanding of AI applications in financial services (desirable).
