Construction Manager – Cambridge

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor’s building team in Cambridge. The role focuses on managing basement and ground‑floor work packages for a major office development, overseeing construction and M&E fit‑out on a permanent, full‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Champion site safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, environment and quality standards.
• Manage subcontractors, verify work against drawings and specifications, and monitor performance on site.
• Coordinate labour, material and equipment requirements to support daily site activities.
• Represent the company at meetings, maintaining a professional image and clarifying staff responsibilities.
• Produce regular progress reports, track performance and flag issues early.

Required profile

• Proven Construction Manager experience on similar‑sized projects, preferably with a Tier 1 main contractor.
• Extensive knowledge of delivering building projects successfully.
• Significant site‑based experience, including people management.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and sequencing.
• Construction‑related qualification to HNC level.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
