Construction Manager – Public Sector Fit‑out (Manchester)

About the role

We are looking for a driven Construction Manager to lead the internal fit‑out phase of the iconic Manchester Town Hall project. This position sits within our Public Sector Projects team and offers the chance to shape a landmark heritage development while ensuring a seamless handover.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate site activities, liaise with the base team and manage subcontractors.
• Develop logistics phase plans, support scope writing, package planning and procurement.
• Maintain safety standards: review method statements, monitor health & safety documentation and conduct inspections.
• Direct construction work to keep supply‑chain contractors aligned with the programme and detailed designs.
• Track progress, adjust methodologies as needed and ensure on‑time completion.
• Maintain a daily construction diary covering resources, weather, stoppages and incidents.
• Lead the site engineering and surveying package, ensuring regular contractor attendance.
• Oversee the ITP and QA processes, guaranteeing contractor compliance with Bovis procedures.
