Construction Supervisor – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Join Babcock at the Devonport Royal Dockyard and lead on‑site construction activities for critical defence infrastructure. As a Construction Supervisor you will work closely with the Construction Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day construction operations on a busy dockyard site.
• Coordinate and supervise multiple contractors across various work packages.
• Lead site meetings, inductions and briefings to maintain clear communication.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, inspections and verification documents.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and CDM requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising contractors and site installation works safely.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, CDM regulations and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Ability to manage daily site activities and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging operatives and management teams.

Required skills

• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Gold Card.
• Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
• Temporary works or lifting qualifications (desirable).
• NVQ Level 6 or Level 7 in Construction Management (desirable).
