Contract Manager

About the role

Axis CLC is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead maintenance contracts covering responsive repairs, voids, disrepair and planned works across housing portfolios. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality services, ensuring safety, compliance and profitability while managing operatives and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational delivery of multiple repairs and maintenance contracts and planned works.
• Manage and motivate teams of operatives and subcontractors to meet KPIs, quality, compliance and safety targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, residents and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee contract performance, financial results, compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct site inspections, progress monitoring and quality reviews.
• Plan resources, programming and workflow to maximise efficiency and minimise resident disruption.
• Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety legislation, RAMS and company procedures.
• Chair progress meetings, deliver toolbox talks and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage contract variations, valuations and accurate financial reporting.
• Support commercial teams with forecasting, profitability reviews and business planning.
• Lead, mentor and develop teams to achieve service excellence.
• Promote sustainability, compliance and equal opportunity across operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract or operations management within property or housing services.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Excellent client‑facing and stakeholder management abilities.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance profitability with service quality.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and RAMS.
• Experience with contract performance monitoring and financial reporting.
