About the role
The Methodist Church is seeking a dedicated volunteer to convene panels for its Discipline, Pastoral, and Appeal committees. This part‑time position supports the Church’s governance by ensuring meetings are organised, documented and run in line with Standing Orders.
Key responsibilities
- Arrange venues and logistics for committee panels.
- Communicate with all parties involved in each case.
- Take accurate minutes to assist Chair reports.
- Ensure panels operate according to the Church’s Standing Orders.
Required profile
- Lay person or Presbyter in good standing with the Methodist Church.
- Clear communication and strong organisational abilities.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Commitment to serve for a minimum of three years, with annual conference approval.
Required skills
- Minute‑taking.
- Meeting coordination.
- Understanding of Standing Orders.
