Corporate Tax Manager – Watford

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Watford. The role involves managing a diverse portfolio of corporate tax clients, delivering both compliance and advisory services, and supporting the firm’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
• Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns.
• Provide tailored tax planning and advisory services on group structures, capital allowances, R&D tax relief, reorganisations and business transactions.
• Build long‑term client relationships and act as a trusted adviser.
• Liaise with HMRC on technical queries, enquiries and compliance matters.
• Support partners with tax planning projects, business development initiatives and client presentations.
• Manage, mentor and develop junior members of the tax team.
• Stay up to date with UK tax legislation and identify opportunities to add value for clients.

Required profile

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified.
• Proven experience in a UK accountancy practice with a strong corporate tax background.
• Excellent technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and delivering both compliance and advisory services.
• Strong commercial awareness and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Proactive approach with the confidence to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
