About the role
We are seeking a Cost Controller to join a leading engineering contractor in Didcot, Oxfordshire. You will be responsible for monitoring project expenses from budgeting through to final cost reporting, ensuring financial plans are adhered to and resources are optimised.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, monitor and report on project cost forecasts.
- Produce end‑of‑month commercial reports highlighting key issues.
- Track and report on change‑management logs.
- Complete monthly inter‑company billing.
- Assist project managers with cost build‑up for pricing projects.
- Manage the project Work Breakdown Structure.
- Review and act on purchase order and invoicing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with cost‑control processes and company procedures.
- Perform SAP checks on aged purchase orders and process GRIR entries.
- Provide bespoke internal reporting support to project teams as required.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience in cost control or commercial administration.
- Self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Relevant degree or diploma.
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a large volume of work and meet deadlines.
