Cover Supervisor

About the role

Veritas Education is looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work on a day‑to‑day and short‑term supply basis across secondary schools in Burnley from September 2026. This role offers valuable classroom experience for graduates, aspiring teachers, teaching assistants, youth workers and sports coaches who enjoy working with young people.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and keep pupils on task.
• Support student learning and engagement throughout lessons.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour.
• Work across a variety of subjects and year groups.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring or youth setting.
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• Confidence leading a class of secondary‑aged students.
• Flexible, professional approach and commitment to safeguarding.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK and two professional references.
