Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Blackburn)

About the role

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Blackburn on a day‑to‑day and short‑term supply basis from September 2026. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain classroom experience for graduates, aspiring teachers, teaching assistants, sports coaches, youth workers and anyone with a passion for working with young people.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑prepared lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
• Maintain a positive, productive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students stay engaged, complete set work and achieve learning objectives.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil participation and behaviour.
• Work across a range of subjects and year groups within local secondary schools.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, youth work or similar settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence managing groups of secondary‑aged students.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
• Professional, reliable and enthusiastic about supporting education.
