Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Wirral)

About the role
Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across the Wirral. You will step into classrooms when teachers are absent, delivering pre‑planned lessons and maintaining a safe learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise classes of pupils aged 11‑16 in the teacher’s absence.
- Deliver lesson content and activities prepared by the subject teacher.
- Maintain classroom discipline in line with school behaviour policies.
- Assist students with queries, keep them on task, and collect completed work.
- Record and report any achievements, concerns or behavioural issues using school systems.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with groups of children (e.g., teaching assistant, support worker, coach, tutor).
- Willingness to hold an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or obtain a new one.
- Confident presence and ability to manage groups of students.
- Clear, assertive and professional communication skills.
Required skills
- Classroom management.
- Ability to follow pre‑set lesson plans.
- Basic record‑keeping and reporting.
