Credible Specialist – GCSE Computer Science

About the role

Pearson Edexcel is seeking a Credible Specialist to support its GCSE Computer Science qualification. The role is ad‑hoc, roughly two days per month, and involves guiding centres and teachers through the curriculum, resources and assessment requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide centre visits, Zoom sessions and telephone support for new and existing centres.
• Guide centres on the endorsed GCSE Computer Science title and related support materials.
• Create teaching and learning resources for the Pearson website as needed.
• Attend stakeholder meetings, senior team briefings and relevant events.
• Deliver online, network or twilight events for GCSE and A‑level audiences.
• Engage with teacher communities on social media and act as the Pearson Edexcel voice.
• Offer subject expertise and market insights to product teams and advisors.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience teaching or assessing Pearson Edexcel GCSE Computer Science.
• Active practitioner in the subject area.
• Professional representation of Pearson Edexcel and alignment with its guidance.
• Willingness to attend a training day with the chair of examiners.
• Completion of the Pearson training course to qualify for school training delivery.
