Credit Risk Portfolio Senior Analyst

About the role

Barclays is looking for a Credit Risk Portfolio Senior Analyst to help shape and optimise credit risk strategies across its lending products, including loans and credit cards. Based in Edinburgh, you will work on portfolio performance management, strategy development and the delivery of improvements for both customers and the business.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse the financial performance and risk profile of the bank’s lending portfolio across borrowers, sectors and regions.
• Identify credit trends, early‑warning signals and opportunities, and assess the impact of economic and market developments.
• Develop and apply quantitative models, risk‑forecasting tools and stress‑testing exercises to estimate potential credit losses.
• Produce evidence‑based recommendations and lead the implementation of strategic and operational change initiatives.
• Support data‑driven risk monitoring, governance activities and reporting to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification with a strong analytical focus, preferably in a STEM, quantitative or data‑driven discipline.
• Proven experience as an analyst, capable of working proactively and independently.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, strong numerical capability and a logical, structured approach to analysis.
• Experience interpreting large data sets and translating analysis into clear proposals.
