Customer and Trading Manager - Convenience Store

About the role

Sainsbury's is recruiting a Customer and Trading Manager for its Enfield Bush Hill Park Local Store (EN1 1BA) on a full-time secondment. The post carries responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, often with the manager acting alone, and includes people management. The contract ends on 1 May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with a small team of managers so the store runs smoothly every day.
• Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, often being the only manager present, accountable for the whole shop.
• Complete all tasks with the team so customers are served efficiently and safely.
• Manage performance and capability, conduct disciplinaries and ensure scheduling and pay are accurate.
• Occasionally help another store in a network of convenience stores.

Required profile

• Previous line management experience in a fast-paced, operational environment.
• Track record of excellent customer service and coaching colleagues to the same standard.
• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, motivating others and keeping operations running.
• Operational leadership: taking responsibility for store operations in the absence of senior managers.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed KPIs such as sales, availability, customer satisfaction or colleague engagement.
• Experience handling employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
