Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant – Christmas

About the role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for a Christmas temporary role at a Waitrose in Peterborough, you bring quality produce and partner-led service to customers' doors. You start each day in the shop, then deliver orders to customers, and return to the shop to help with stock replenishment and housekeeping. The job is paid at £14.31 per hour, with night premium of £3.75 per hour for work between 22:00 and 06:00.

Key responsibilities

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van, keeping orders together for efficient delivery.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance and health and safety.
• Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand and give customers excellent service.
• Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.

Required profile

• Age 18 or over.
• Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Able to cope with the physical demands, such as lifting crates and moving cages.
• Comfortable working independently, self-motivated and adaptable.

Required skills

• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• IT literate.
• Desirable: previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles.
