Data Analyst Intern

About the role

Blue Oak Consulting is a fully remote consulting firm that helps businesses uncover hidden economic drivers. As a Data Analyst Intern you will work directly with senior consultants to turn messy client data into clear, evidence‑based insights that shape strategic recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and reconcile disparate datasets, fixing errors and inconsistencies.
• Analyze client data to identify patterns that confirm or challenge existing business assumptions.
• Prepare quantitative evidence and visual summaries that support consulting engagements.
• Collaborate with senior consultants to understand the commercial context of each analysis.
• Document analytical steps and communicate findings in clear written reports.

Required profile

• Strong comfort with spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel) for data organization and analysis.
• Extreme attention to detail when handling large, messy datasets.
• Clear written communication skills to explain methodology and conclusions.
• Basic familiarity with SQL or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
• Skeptical mindset that questions whether numbers make sense.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
