Data Analytics Engineer – Hybrid (Basingstoke)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing financial services business to build a modern data platform from the ground up. As a Data Analytics Engineer you will own the full lifecycle of data products – from ingestion through modelling to presentation – and work closely with business stakeholders to turn raw data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build high‑performance data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark, preferably on Azure Databricks.
• Contribute to the platform’s data modelling and overall architecture.
• Create dashboards and semantic models for Power BI and present findings to stakeholders.
• Manage the end‑to‑end data flow from source systems to target repositories, ensuring data quality.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to productionise machine‑learning pipelines.
• Operate within an Agile/DevOps environment.

Required profile

• Strong SQL and Python expertise.
• Solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data‑management principles.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure services (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Storage, DevOps).
• Experience designing Star Schema models for Power BI.
• 5+ years building data platforms in a commercial setting.

What we offer

• Salary range £60,000 – £70,000 per year.
• Permanent contract.
• Hybrid working model based in Basingstoke.
