Data Engineer – Python, SQL, Spark, Databricks

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing technology consultancy in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will work within a collaborative team building innovative data‑intensive products, designing scalable and fault‑tolerant architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build data‑intensive applications and pipelines.
• Develop and maintain data products using Python and SQL.
• Utilise distributed computing frameworks such as Spark or Databricks.
• Implement solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Orchestrate workflows with tools like Airflow.
• Test, troubleshoot, and continuously improve data products to ensure reliability and quality.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving skills and experience designing resilient architectures.
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.
• Academic record of at least a 2:1 degree from a top‑tier university.
