Dental Nurse – Public Dental Service (PDS) – Dumfries

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Dental Nurse to join the Public Dental Service (PDS) at Dumfries Dental Centre, providing patient‑centred support to dental and therapy students and covering outlying clinics as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical assistance to dental and therapy students during patient care.
• Support two clinicians simultaneously, including special‑care patients.
• Participate in the on‑call rota for weekend emergency clinics.
• Maintain health and safety standards within the clinical environment.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve shared goals and take initiative when required.

Required profile

• Qualified Dental Nurse with NEBDN or SVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing.
• Registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) as a Dental Nurse.
• Relevant clinical experience in a dental setting.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in clinical environments.
• Ability to problem‑solve while communicating effectively.

Required skills

• NEBDN Dental Nursing qualification.
• SVQ Level 3 Dental Nursing.
• GDC registration as a Dental Nurse.
• Health & Safety compliance in clinical settings.
