Deputy Chief Pharmacist

About the role

The Deputy Chief Pharmacist will support the Chief Pharmacist in leading the Trust’s pharmacy department, ensuring high‑quality clinical and operational services across mental health, learning disability and community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the clinical and operational pharmacy services within the Trust.
• Provide senior leadership on the medicines optimisation agenda and act as deputy for the Chief Pharmacist when required.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise the use of medicines and pharmacy services.
• Lead, motivate and develop the pharmacy workforce to enhance creativity and productivity.
• Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Serve as a credible clinical leader in mental health pharmacy, influencing practice and policy.

Required profile

• Highly organised and flexible with excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive improvement initiatives.
• Strong collaborative approach with experience working across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred pharmacy services.
