Deputy Depot Night Manager – Night Shift

About the role

As a Deputy Depot Night Manager you will support the Depot Manager in overseeing the night shift operations at our Southampton distribution centre. You will ensure newspapers and magazines are dispatched accurately and on time to retailers across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all night‑shift staff, providing training, coaching and identifying development needs.
• Produce accurate operational reports highlighting challenges and successes.
• Work closely with senior management to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Maintain high health and safety standards throughout the depot.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
• Manage the annual budget and forecast for the night operation.

Required profile

• Proven success in a warehouse or distribution environment in a managerial capacity.
• Experience of running fast‑paced night operations and handling issues as they arise.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Commercial awareness and ability to meet financial targets.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
