Deputy Headteacher – SEN (Special Educational Needs)

About the role
We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join a thriving SEN school within The Education Network Birmingham. The role will work closely with a newly appointed Headteacher to shape strategy, improve outcomes and create a joyful learning environment for children with special educational needs.
Key responsibilities
- Set a clear progression plan and track outcomes
- Achieve high‑quality teaching and learning outcomes for SEN students
- Lead safeguarding and safer recruitment
- Oversee EHCPs, annual reviews and provision mapping
- Embed positive outcomes across the school
- Provide leadership across teaching, learning, policies, culture and outcomes
- Support recruitment initiatives and staff development
- Build strong partnerships with local authority, families, health professionals and social workers
Required profile
- Experienced or aspiring Deputy Headteacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with senior leadership experience in SEN
- Ability to impact outcomes for pupils with SEN
- Strong knowledge of KCSIE and the SEN Code of Practice
- Confident leader of people, curriculum and culture
- Aspiring Headteacher with drive, commitment and a record of achievement in SEN provision
