Deputy Nursery Manager

About the role
The Deputy Nursery Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth daily operations of a well‑regarded early years setting serving children from 9 months to 5 years. This hands‑on leadership position offers the chance to influence practice, support staff development and maintain high standards of care and education.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the nursery.
- Lead, motivate and inspire a team of 14 practitioners.
- Ensure full compliance with the EYFS framework and safeguarding regulations.
- Oversee staff supervisions, mentoring and professional development.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with parents.
- Step in as acting manager during the Nursery Manager’s absence.
Required profile
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5+ desirable).
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory nursery role.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
- Confident leadership and organisational abilities.
- Genuine passion for delivering outstanding early years education.
