Deputy Nursery Manager (Supernumerary)

About the role

Join Childbase Partnership as a Deputy Nursery Manager (supernumerary) at Knowle Green Day Nursery in Staines. You will support the Nursery Manager in delivering high‑quality early years provision for up to 133 children, working a flexible 37.5‑hour week across varied shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with Ofsted and DfE standards.
• Lead, mentor and appraise staff, fostering a positive and knowledgeable workforce.
• Manage staff rotas, cover arrangements and health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Support children’s learning and development plans, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
• Engage with parents and external partners to promote excellent early years outcomes.

Required profile

• DfE‑approved early years qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Current experience in a leadership capacity within an early years setting (e.g., Third‑in‑Charge, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager).
• Demonstrated passion for team development and performance management.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding early years practice.
