Desarrollador Host Senior

About the role

Babel is looking for a Senior Host Developer to join its multinational technology consultancy team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using COBOL and related technologies, within an Agile Scrum environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze technical requirements and translate client rules into robust software solutions.
• Develop, test, and deliver mainframe applications, ensuring high quality through unit and functional testing with end‑users.
• Implement applications following Agile Scrum practices.
• Version control code and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience developing software in COBOL on mainframe platforms.
• Strong knowledge of CICS (mandatory) and JCL.
• Experience with mainframe utilities (file creation, sorting, copying, matching).
• Proficiency in DB2‑SQL, batch processing, and online transaction handling.
• Familiarity with Control‑M, ChangeMan version control, and Altamira or Alnova architectures.
• Understanding of Connect Direct for file transfers.
• Optional: design of host tables, VSAM file handling, pure CICS, MQ, and tools such as X‑INFO, Jira, Remedy‑Helix.
