Design Engineer – Portable Crushing & Screening Plants

About the role

The Design Engineer will join the portable plant engineering team in Farlough, NI, reporting to the Engineering Team Lead. You will develop new wheeled crushing and screening plants and maintain existing designs, ensuring they meet safety, performance and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineered solutions for new product development and product modifications.
• Create full manufacturing specification packages, including engineering BOMs and spare parts lists.
• Resolve root‑cause issues quickly and manage engineering change processes for wheeled platforms.
• Supervise prototype development and production launches.
• Maintain engineering standards and global data management systems.
• Drive cost reductions through design optimisation and supplier collaboration.
• Investigate customer complaints and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Standardise components across the wheeled platform product line.
• Support technical publications, creating operation and maintenance manuals and parts books.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills for welded steel structures and hydraulic systems.
• Creative and innovative mindset with a “can‑do” attitude.

Required skills

• Proficient in 3D solid‑modeling CAD, preferably Creo.
• Experience creating engineering BOMs.
• Analysis of welded steel structures.
• Hydraulic system analysis.
