Design & Technology Teacher (Food Technology Focus)

About the role
Prospero Teaching, in partnership with a respected secondary school in Bridgwater, is seeking a passionate Design & Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food Technology. This full‑time, temp‑to‑perm position starts in September 2026 and will involve teaching Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons, focusing on Food Technology.
- Develop students’ knowledge of nutrition, health and food preparation.
- Foster creativity, independence and problem‑solving through practical projects.
- Contribute to a balanced DT curriculum and support cross‑department collaboration.
- Maintain effective classroom and behaviour management.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4.
- Ability to teach Food Technology confidently.
- Strong classroom management and a resilient, positive attitude.
- Team‑player who believes all students can succeed.
Required skills
- Design & Technology curriculum delivery.
- Food Technology practical instruction.
