Designer - Building Surveying

About the role

We are looking for a CAD Designer to join our building surveying team, delivering design solutions for the social housing sector. You will create residential drawings, windows, doors, roofing and refurbishment details using 2D AutoCAD.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings from client briefs and project specifications.
• Collaborate with local authorities, social‑housing clients, suppliers and internal teams to develop commercially viable designs.
• Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring accurate documentation and specifications.
• Liaise closely with internal building surveyor teams and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and revise drawings in response to client feedback, site surveys and design changes.

Required profile

• Proven experience with 2D AutoCAD.
• Background in external building products (planned maintenance, refurbishment, fit‑out, roofing, fire, doors, windows or similar).
• Experience with local authorities or social‑housing projects is highly advantageous.
• Relevant construction qualification or degree preferred.
• Confident, resilient, articulate with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
