Designer – Modular Building Design

About the role

Rollalong is seeking a Designer to create economic, functional and aesthetically pleasing modular building solutions. Working under the Lead Designer, you will develop production‑ready design information for client projects and internal product development.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality, technically accurate modular building designs using light steel framing, hot‑rolled steel and timber stud panels.
• Create detailed production drawings that comply with EN, BS standards and relevant building regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external specialist contractors to define detailing, minimise risk and ensure compliance.
• Generate sectional, construction and finishing details, including schedules and bills of materials.
• Validate design solutions with professional engineering calculations and product indemnities where required.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Building Regulations, BREEAM, CDM regulations and other technical legislation.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD within a building/architectural environment.
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and experience working in a BIM Level 2 environment.
• Degree‑level education preferred, with relevant industry experience.
