DevOps Engineer – Cloud Native & Kubernetes

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a fast‑growing, AI‑driven technology team. The role focuses on building and operating cloud‑native, microservices‑based platforms and will be fully remote, with the candidate based in the greater Aberdeen area.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate production Kubernetes clusters and supporting platform services.
• Create and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code principles.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows with tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Implement observability solutions—including metrics, logging and tracing—for platform monitoring.
• Optimise platform performance, scalability and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to backend tooling and automation where required.
• Participate in code and configuration reviews, promoting engineering best practices.
• Embed security into delivery pipelines, including image scanning, dependency management and secrets handling.
• Support incident response, post‑incident reviews and continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to enable predictable, low‑risk releases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a DevOps, SRE or platform engineering role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with microservices architectures and cloud‑native platforms.
• Knowledge of GitOps methodologies and CI/CD tooling.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Helm and at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Software engineering capability in a backend language such as Go, Python or TypeScript.
• Understanding of observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable working in an agile, delivery‑focused environment.
