Director of Cyber Security – Governance & Business Management

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Director to lead governance and business management of our IT security function in London. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape the organisation’s security strategy, ensure regulatory compliance and translate technical risk into clear business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, operate and continuously improve formal cyber security governance and reporting frameworks.
• Drive structured decision‑making, risk management and strategic alignment of security initiatives across the business.
• Facilitate governance forums, oversee policy adherence and ensure high‑quality documentation and communications.
• Produce executive‑level briefings, board papers and regulatory reports that convey security posture and risks.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business units, managing security enquiries and fostering strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate governance forum logistics, agenda setting and material preparation.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in cyber security, governance or risk management.
• Strong ability to communicate complex security concepts to executive and board audiences.
• Demonstrated experience working with regulatory bodies and meeting compliance requirements.
• Track record of building effective partnerships with business leaders and cross‑functional teams.
