Director of Housing Property & Investment

About the role

This senior leadership position provides strategic direction for Housing Property, Investment and Asset Services, ensuring safe, compliant, high‑quality and energy‑efficient homes for the council’s residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for housing property, investment and asset services.
• Steward and optimise the council’s housing and property assets to deliver long‑term financial, environmental and social returns.
• Drive a data‑led, whole‑life approach from planning and construction through occupation, maintenance and renewal.
• Ensure property services deliver value for money, high resident satisfaction and full statutory compliance.
• Lead the development and delivery of capital investment, maintenance and building‑safety programmes aligned with the business plan.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in housing, property or asset management, preferably within the public sector.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, building safety and energy‑efficiency standards.
• Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to deliver long‑term asset value.
• Excellent stakeholder influence and communication skills.
• Commitment to data‑driven decision making and sustainable outcomes.
