Director of Sourcing

About the role

The Director of Sourcing will lead a global supply chain function from the United Kingdom, shaping and executing sourcing strategies that drive supplier excellence, cost efficiency, and supply continuity. This senior leadership position partners with manufacturing, quality, marketing and operations to enable business growth and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to optimise supplier performance and reduce costs.
• Develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, including supplier development and risk mitigation.
• Manage supplier selection, qualification, negotiation and contract execution.
• Oversee supplier performance management frameworks, scorecards and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality and cross‑functional teams to plan and execute supplier audits.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Marketing and Operations to support product launches and production readiness.
• Build, coach and develop a high‑performing sourcing team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in sourcing, procurement or supply chain leadership within complex international environments.
• Strong expertise in supplier management, contract negotiation and strategic sourcing development.
• Proven ability to lead supplier performance programs, audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Experience working cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance and Operations.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership experience, including coaching and performance management.
• Solid understanding of procurement systems, ERP tools and supplier management platforms.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
