Divisional Commercial Finance Director – Infrastructure

About the role

This senior finance position sits at the heart of a fast‑scaling, private‑equity backed infrastructure business operating across the UK’s transport and power sectors. Reporting to the CFO, you will partner directly with senior operational leaders to drive performance, integration and financial control across a rapidly evolving division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead divisional financial management in a large‑scale contract‑based environment.
• Oversee contract accounting, work‑in‑progress (WIP) and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
• Support integration of newly acquired businesses within the division.
• Partner closely with divisional MDs and commercial leadership teams.
• Act as strategic finance lead for operational and commercial decision‑making.
• Drive forecasting, budgeting and cash‑flow management.
• Provide robust challenge and commercial insight to senior stakeholders.
• Lead and develop a small team of qualified finance professionals.
• Build strong relationships across finance, operational and commercial functions.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with experience in complex, contract‑led environments.
• Background in infrastructure, energy, defence, facilities management, engineering or similar project‑centric sectors.
• Strong understanding of contract accounting, WIP and CVR.
• Proven ability to operate in fast‑paced, operationally intensive businesses.
• Commercially astute with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
• Resilient personality comfortable in a demanding, high‑growth setting.
