Early Careers Lead

About the role

The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking an Early Careers Lead to design and deliver a forward‑thinking early‑careers strategy. You will shape how young people in the region access apprenticeships, graduate programmes, internships and work experience, supporting a greener, more digital and inclusive economy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a coherent early‑careers strategy aligned with regional workforce planning.
• Build and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, universities and training providers.
• Oversee a portfolio of programmes, designing structured development pathways and inclusive attraction mechanisms.
• Use data and insights to evaluate impact, report outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and hiring managers to forecast future capability needs and create sustainable talent pipelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in early‑careers pathways and workforce development.
• Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder‑influence skills.
• Ability to manage multiple programmes and deliver inclusive, structured experiences.
• Experience working with education partners or within a regional skills landscape is highly valued.
