Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

About the role
We are looking for an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our Montessori classrooms in Cambridge. Working closely with lead teachers, you will help create a nurturing, prepared environment that supports each child’s growth and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and maintaining a prepared classroom environment with organized educational materials.
- Collaborate with lead teachers to plan and facilitate activities that promote social, emotional and academic development.
- Encourage children’s independence through self‑directed tasks and personal care routines.
- Support children in caring for their environment and themselves, fostering responsibility.
- Adapt activities to meet diverse learning styles, backgrounds and special needs.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of classrooms and bathrooms daily.
- Participate in school events, open houses and community activities.
Required profile
- Early Childhood Assistant diploma or equivalent experience working with young children.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current immunizations, TB screening and a clear Vulnerable Sector criminal check.
