Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Building Services Design Engineer with a strong electrical background to join a leading engineering firm. The role is fully remote and focuses on delivering technically challenging projects for Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Justice sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs, specifications and calculations for HV/LV, network distribution, lighting, fire alarm and security systems.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings and client briefings.
• Manage project budgets and timescales, overseeing values from £5k up to £3.5m.
• Allocate approximately 70% of time to design work while supervising project delivery.

Required profile

• Qualified Building Services Design Engineer with an electrical engineering background.
• Experience working on large‑scale government or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work autonomously, organise workload and meet deadlines.
