Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing – Southend

About the role

Our client is seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Southend. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will support production equipment, respond to breakdowns, deliver engineering projects and drive continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for machinery breakdown repairs, maintenance and development.
• Assess, repair, maintain and develop plant equipment, collecting data as required.
• Define project requirements, drive projects to completion and produce structured reports.
• Support plant and process efficiency, safety and product quality initiatives.
• Maintain workshop procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Liaise with suppliers to achieve optimal solutions and report to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience with Siemens S5 and S7 PLCs.
• Familiarity with Eurotherm and Uni Drives.
• Time Service Electrical Engineer 17th Edition qualification.
• Electrical Installation qualification (or higher) and BTEC or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Multi‑skilled in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Self‑motivated, solution‑oriented and a strong team player.

• £45,000 base salary
• 20% performance bonus
• 40‑hour week with rotating shifts (6 am‑2 pm / 2 pm‑10 pm)
