About the role
1st Step Solutions is supporting a National Tier 1 M&E contractor on an 18-month contract for an experienced Electrical Supervisor on a school project in Southampton. The role covers overseeing electrical work and site electricians, scoping work, ordering materials and ensuring electrical safety rules are followed.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the installation and supervise contractors and subcontractors, making sure they are adequately trained and follow H&S procedures
- Carry out site surveys, complete schedules of work and order materials so the programme of works is delivered
- Conduct toolbox talks and liaise regularly with managers, reporting on all site works
- Manage variations and ensure the installation is of high quality and snag-free
- Handle paperwork such as RFIs, method statements, risk assessments, site diaries and progress reports
Required profile
- Approved Electrician Gold Card
- SSSTS/SMSTS
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Experience on commercial projects
- Client-facing experience and ability to carry out survey work
